Duplication Survey
Someone asked me to pass these questions on to some local musicians. I don't know if this is just for a class or for a real possibility, but it's just a few qustions.
1) If there were a local company in Morgantown that could perform good quality CD duplication for very cheap would you do business there after seeing an example of a product?
2) How would you describe good quality in CD duplication?
3) What other products would you be interested in getting that would specialize in helping local bands besides CD Duplication? (ex: stickers, buttons, ect.)

I've never really messed with a CD duplication service before, but I'm beginning to see the benefit of it. Here's the specs from the company that I was planning on using as soon as I had a good product to get duplicated:
* Record/Play specializes in short run CD duplication. High quality, low prices and quick turnaround.
* We feature full color direct to disk printing. This is not a stick on paper label. Advanced ink jet technology allows us to print full color photos, text, and graphics directly to the disk. In short run duplication, this is the industry standard and the next best thing to silk screen printing.
* We produce full color CD covers and tray card inserts. The standard is a 2 page cover. Thats a color cover and black and white text and graphics inside. The back cover can be full color and the jewel case has a black tray.
* We utilize only the best Grade A media and commercial quality multi-speed duplication equipment

If anyone can top this in morgantown or even suggest a better place, then that would be awesome. The bits that interested me were short-run, Full-color print on CD's, high-quality sound and short turn-around
Other service that would be nice:
-Screenprinted shirts and stickers; with good ability to do multiple colors consistently and cheaply
-Buttons
-Web design/ web mastering
-booking and promotions
I think that's about it...
I suppose if there was a company that manufactured robots to play in the band, that would be nice too.

I think that it would be great if there was a local production company with the capability to manufacture quality CD's, Stickers, T-Shirts ect....
The only problem I see is being able to compete with the large internet corps.
After looking locally and everywhere else for the best deal.... we found that the local companies can't compete. When it comes to CD's, T-shirts, Stickers, Posters ect... These internet businesses are hard to beat.
Hey.. That rhymes..

oh incidentally, I do know a guy who does shirts and buttons locally and he does a pretty good job in terms of DIY punk standards. His shirts are done with a photo emulsion burnt screen and they look pretty sweet. He's usually more of a one color guy but has done multiple colors too. If you like the handmade everyone a bit different kind of look he does a good job with shirts for like 3 bucks a piece and his buttons are like 15 bucks for 25 or something like that I can't remember I have done business with him for a while but he does all of the stuff for most of the punk bands around.
